Cut Your Wedding Costs
For many couples, a wedding is the most expensive event of their lifetime. The question is then, what can you do to minimize wedding expenses without excessively affecting the quality of the event?
Planning your big day so that you will not be getting married at the most popular time of year will significantly reduce the costs of arrangements. Whilst you likely will not want to get married in the winter months, the crossover periods on either end of summer can offer good value with little compromise on weather.
You will need to spend a fair amount of time visiting wedding vendors and online wedding shops so as to thoroughly compare the prices and value being offered. Enquire about hidden costs in particular because listed prices are rarely the price you will end up paying.
Prices can be exceedingly expensive if you wish to book a ballroom or a luxurious hotel. These, however, are not your only choices when the wedding reception hall is being made. Try to look for a room at a country club or golf club as these tend to be a less expensive option.
You can reduce wedding expenses by carefully considering the food for your wedding reception. Taking it to the extreme, you will be able to save yourself a tremendous sum of money if you are going to prepare the menu yourself. Should this not be possible, you can still significantly cut costs by bringing in your own caterer or by limiting the food options on your menu.
Lastly, ask friends to help out with things in lieu of buying you a wedding gift. For example, they might be able to help with the catering, photography or chaffeuring the wedding cars. Not only will this save you money, it additionally gives them a sense of pride because they are making a personal contribution that you will remember.
