The Flower Wedding Centerpiece

By selecting traditional floral arrangements as your wedding centerpiece, you can’t go wrong. The only downside to floral arrangements are that they don ‘t have a very long lifespan.  Usually, at the end of the wedding ceremonies, if you look closely you will be able to see them beginning to wilt a bit.  Nonetheless, year after year, floral centerpieces remain among the top seller items for wedding vendors.

Red roses are always a traditional choice, but other flowers can do just as well. Traditional red roses can be displayed in one of two ways. One of the simplest ways is simply to cut the flowers off at the corolla and let it float on top of a bowl of water. Alternatively, you can use a long tower vase, cut the flowers off at the stem base to where the flower head just comes over the top. Tower vases are very elegant for wedding centerpiece ideas and are perfect for displaying long stemmed flowers. The most important element of a rose centerpiece, however,  are the roses themselves. Make sure that you’re dealing with a reputable and dependable florist who will not embarrass you with a poor selection of flowers at the wedding.

There are so many varieties of flowers to choose from that you may have difficulty deciding on the perfect floral arrangement for your wedding centerpiece. But it’s not something that you should over worry about. You can always seek the help of a floral designer to give you an assist. A talented and experienced floral designer can suggest truly unique and inventive flower arrangements that you might never have thought of on your own. Don’t be afraid to seek the opinion of experts as you plan your wedding.

It’s never too soon to select your wedding florist. He or she can help you to make floral decisions. He can also ensure that the flowers you decide on will be available and in season at the date of your wedding. Your florist will also need to be involved to help coordinate the flowers with the particular corsages and other floral arrangements that are being made.

If you are superstitious, you may be inclined to select one of the lucky bamboo plants as your wedding centerpiece. The lucky bamboo is not strictly a flower in the pure botanical sense, but it does sort of have a floral ambience. And their presence adds a bit of mysticism to the proceedings as it signifies good fortune for all. Its name, however, is misleading as lucky bamboo plants are not really bamboo at all. Its botanical name is Dracaena sanderiana and it’s also known as Ribbon Dracaena. In reality, Lucky Bamboo is a shrub, native not to Asia, but to west Africa. Nevertheless, lucky bamboo plants will fit in very nicely with most wedding celebrations.

Flowers can end up being a very expensive part of your total wedding expenses. In fact, aside from the rental hall, some people consider the floral theme to be one of the most critical parts of the entire wedding plan. So start looking early so that you have plenty of time to find a good deal that won’t break your wedding budget.
