Wedding Planning Resources Every Bride Can Use

Planning a beautiful wedding is a big job, but fortunately, no bride has to go it alone. There are many people, books, and websites out there which can help make the job more manageable. These are the most useful tools in helping to organize your dream wedding.

First of all, there are the wedding planning books. The complete wedding planning types of books are very practical references that you will turn to again and again. Planning books also address a variety of special subjects like stationery, decorations, wedding gowns and jewelry, and more. Pretty much any wedding topic you can think of will have a book written about it, whether you are interested in Jewish weddings, Celtic traditions, or even Southern weddings! Most brides need at least one solid soup-to-nuts wedding planning book, and from there, you can select some shorter books which are more about your specific interests.

The Internet is loaded with gorgeous and practical websites for brides. You can get electronic wedding planning books to download (called ebooks). Of great use are the sites that allow you to create a personalized wedding budget spreadsheet to keep track of your expenditures. And of course, there are a number of sites which show thousands of gorgeous photos of real weddings to inspire you. You will find websites geared towards offbeat brides, cake design, vintage inspired wedding, and pretty much anything else you can imagine. All of them are fun to peruse for inspiration. Organize all of your favorite websites, pictures, and so forth on a site like Delicious so you can access your wedding related bookmarks from anywhere. That will make it easy to find the picture of your favorite bouquet or dream wedding gown when you want to print them out to take to an appointment with the florist or the bridal salon.

While the Internet, books, and magazines are great, they are not a substitute for having conversations with real people. Keep in mind that your mom has probably planned a wedding or two, and she can probably answer your questions about making a seating chart, picking bouquet colors, and how to plan a bridesmaids’ luncheon. A recently married friend will be able to give you great insight about the small details you may have overlooked. Your consultant at the bridal salon will probably have the inside scoop about all of the best photographers in your area. Ask your venue’s wedding planner about the best photographers or cake bakers in town. The list goes on and on! Some brides also find that Internet chat rooms are a good place to get recommendations for local vendors.

Although a lot of brides turn first to the Internet to get answers to their wedding questions, remember that there are also some lovely bridal magazines available. Turn to them to see how the current wedding dresses look when beautifully styled. There are also bridal magazines made especially for specific regions (great for seeing what different venues people are using), and those which are all about wedding gowns and bridal jewelry. The wedding magazines are nicely arranged with seasonal info, which can make them very useful. One thing is for sure, with so many fantastic resources at your fingertips, you will be able to organize the wedding of your dreams!
